The Black Velvet Band

by Jim Lad, posted 03/09/09 19:29:53   News

"The Black Velvet Band" is now on sale at CD Baby.
This is my second album to be completely recorded in Mixcraft. I did normalize in Wavelab but other than that, everything including the artwork is 100% Acoustica.
I even borrowed the reverb settings for some songs from the vocals in "Crazy about my Baby".
Another good reason to hang on to those Mixcraft demo songs.

So I've added lyrics to each of the songs. (For the millions upon millions of folk fans whom I know will be dying to read them)

Welcome!!

A very special welcome to those popping in from Mudcat.org for a wee listen.
Thank you for taking the time.
This site is full of folks like myself who are putting their Home Studio recordings out there.
Check some of them out unless there's some thread urgently in need of your attention back at the cafe'.
Cheers!
Jim

Statistics

by Jim Lad, posted 02/25/09 05:53:42   News

Well, well, well.
It seems that while I was gone, someone around here was fiddling the statistics to keep themselves at the top of the charts and for this reason we are now allowed no more than two songs on the charts at any given time.
Now, back in the MP3 days we were all aware that people were gaming the system for financial gain but why anyone would choose to do that here has me completely confuddled.
Vanity, I suppose.
I sincerely hope that the moderators around here can give us a counter for each song.
Like many of you, I am learning how to record with Mixcraft and those statistics are a useful way of gauging our own success.
Never ceases to amaze me.
Ach well.
What the heck.
